This kilt pin from our Bee Faithful series is a beautiful way to show your faith on your jacket, purse, hat or a baby’s bag or carrier. Goldstone is a type of manufactured glittering glass, and in fact goldstone is often mistaken for or misrepresented as a natural material. The most common form of goldstone is reddish-brown, containing tiny crystals of metallic copper. Goldstone also exists in other color variants based on other elements. Cobalt or manganese can be substituted for copper; the resulting crystals have a more silvery appearance and are suspended in a strongly colored matrix of the corresponding ionic color, resulting in blue goldstone or purple goldstone respectively.
Our products are handcrafted using the finest materials available to ensure that your pin will be an heirloom for many years to come. Like any fine glass, goldstone can be cleaned by dipping it in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent added. Wipe over the surface with a cotton wool ball to remove dirt. Use a soft brush for hard to reach areas. Rinse with clean water by dipping the goldstone into a bowl of lukewarm water without detergent or by wiping with a damp swab. Blot dry using paper towels or a soft cloth.
